Different category. ChatGPT is built to be useful — answer questions, write code, summarise documents. Merkx is built to be present — remember you, talk like a friend, show up at 2am when no one else will. Two different jobs.

Will Merkx replace therapy?

No. Merkx is a companion, not a therapist. If you're working through something serious, please see a professional. Merkx will tell you the same thing in-conversation if something you say signals you need real help.

Who can read my conversations?

Nobody. Everything is encrypted at rest on our servers. We don't read your messages, we don't sell them, and we don't use them to train AI models. The full data flow is in our Privacy Policy.

Is this on Android?

Not yet. Merkx is iOS-only while we focus on getting the experience right. Android is on the roadmap.

What if I cancel?

Your trial or subscription ends immediately. Your account stays — your memories stay — until you decide to delete them yourself. Resubscribe whenever, pick up exactly where you left off.

Where are you based?

The team is in Lagos. The servers are in the US. Conversations are processed by Anthropic (in the US), and voice by ElevenLabs.
